From the people who came in
Somchai Kaewdee
Chiang Mai resident
"I brought in my father's old Seiko automatic — hadn't been serviced in maybe fifteen years. I was a bit worried about what the verdict would be, but Rattana explained everything clearly before touching anything. Three weeks later the watch came back with a timing report and it's been keeping good time since. Wouldn't hesitate to go back."

Marie Laurent
Visiting from France
"I dropped my watch off for a battery change on a Tuesday morning and it was ready by the afternoon. What I appreciated is that they replaced the gasket as well and did a water resistance check — not just swapped the cell and handed it back. Small shop, calm atmosphere, very helpful."

"The overhaul took just over three weeks which was a little longer than I expected, but they kept me informed throughout by message. The watch runs noticeably better and they showed me the timing sheet when I collected. Good honest work, I'll come back for the battery service on my other watch."

"I asked about getting my watch case polished. Rather than just taking it on, they looked at the finish and told me the brushed panels should be left alone — polishing would remove the texture. I appreciated that. They tidied the polished surfaces only and it looks much better for it."

"Found Rattana Time while looking for a watch battery shop near the Night Bazaar. Much better experience than I expected — not just a kiosk, they clearly know what they're doing. Battery and gasket done same day, pressure tested. The price was fair for the level of care."

Germany, long-stay visitor
"Solid work. My automatic had been running slow for about two years. They gave me an honest estimate and delivered a timing report when I collected. It's running about +4 seconds per day now, which is fine for the calibre. They explained the result well. Only minor point: the intake process could be a bit quicker during busy hours."

Challenge
Inherited automatic, not serviced in 20+ years
A Thai-German family brought in a dress automatic that had belonged to a grandfather. The watch had sentimental value but was running approximately 8–10 minutes slow per day and occasionally stopping.
What We Did
Full overhaul with parts assessment
The movement was disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned, and inspected. One worn part was identified and replaced after a discussion with the owners. Lubrication and regulation followed over two and a half weeks.
Outcome
Running at +5 sec/day, timing report provided
The watch now keeps time well within the expected range for its calibre. The timing report confirmed the result. The family has since returned for a battery service on a second watch.
"We weren't sure the watch could be saved, honestly. It came back running and looking like itself — not over-polished, just cleaned up where it mattered." — Sunisa K., June 2025
Challenge
Daily quartz with moisture damage concern
A visitor from Australia noticed condensation under the crystal of her daily-wear quartz watch after a river trip. She was only in Chiang Mai for two more days.
What We Did
Same-day battery and gasket service
The case was opened, the movement dried and inspected, a new battery and gasket fitted, and the case pressure-tested. No lasting moisture damage was found — the timing was fortunate. Work completed the same afternoon.
Outcome
Watch collected before her flight
The watch was collected on her last evening. The pressure test confirmed the case was sealed. She was given a note on when to bring the watch in next for a preventive check.
"I thought I'd have to leave the watch behind. They fit me in the same day and explained everything. Took the watch home with me." — Rachel T., May 2025
